Innovation, sustainability and solidarity for a better future

We always favor repairing over replacing whenever possible. This significantly reduces waste, as well as CO2 and greenhouse gas emissions.

Every year, Carglass® saves several hundred tons of CO2 thanks to its Glass-Medic® Repair-First strategy. In fact, a glass repair consumes 80% less C02 than a replacement, or 66 kg less (Repair: 16 kg and replacement 82 kg CO2 - Source: Belron 2023 study.

Carglass® recycles 100% of used glass

We work closely with our waste management partners to ensure that we recycle as much used glass as possible. Once recycled, glass can be used in the production of various objects, including bottles.

Our first circular windshields

In 2023, an innovative project was launched: one of our European partners active in waste processing produced windscreens made entirely from used glass supplied by Carglass®. This is how our first circular windscreens were born!

A transition to a 100% electric fleet

To reduce its carbon footprint, Carglass® has acquired electric vehicles. By early 2025, 25% of our vehicle fleet will be electric (mobile intervention vehicles, replacement vehicles for customers, service cars). Our goal is to reach 100% by 2026.

Environmental reduction impact thanks to CO2-neutral transportation

Carglass® collaborates with a Swiss transport company that holds the “Lean&Green” award and which, thanks to the use of liquid natural gas (LNG) and biogenic fuels, has been transporting glass for Carglass® across Switzerland in a completely CO2-neutral manner since the end of 2023.

Carglass® favors renewable energy

All Carglass® sites use electricity from renewable energy sources.

In the face of global warming, Carglass Switzerland is taking action by focusing on renewable energy in order to reduce the carbon footprint of its energy production.

Committing to a sustainable future

Carglass®, sustainability is at the heart of our concerns. A team dedicated to the ecological transition is working to make all our employees aware of the advantages of a responsible approach and is actively working to reduce our carbon footprint.

Among our initiatives:

  • Favoring eco-responsible travel: we encourage the use of the train rather than the car or plane for business trips.
  • Reduction in printing: a collective effort has enabled us to significantly reduce the use of paper by promoting digital alternatives.
  • Energy optimization: we are also considering reducing the carbon footprint of our illuminated signs by replacing the current electronic systems with more energy-efficient solutions.

These actions are part of an ongoing process of reflection to build a working environment that respects the planet. Moreover, as part of several annual events, a contribution is made to Team for the Planet, which raises funds to detect and deploy global innovations against greenhouse gases. These initiatives, which have been running for more than 2 years now, have saved 6To CO2 eq per year.

Diversity at the heart of our mission

Carglass® employs 23 nationalities in Switzerland. In 2024, the diversity index of 91% is 11 points higher than the Swiss average (source: Willis-Towers-Watson 2024 survey). Our ambition is to protect our staff, value differences in all forms and create an environment in which everyone can flourish and accomplish their mission with confidence. We are committed to maintaining diversity within our company and increasing the number of female technicians we employ.

A commitment to those in need

Carglass® is committed to the well-being of people in financial difficulty and donates a five-figure sum every year to several charities (including the Théodora Foundation in Switzerland and the Afrika-Tikkun Foundation based in South Africa).

Every year, thousands of employees do extraordinary things to make a difference and help those in need. The most inspiring example is our annual “Spirit of Belron” challenge. In 2024, more than 12,500 Belron employees, friends, families and partners took part in the challenge to raise funds for the Afrika Tikkun charity, which helps young people in South Africa.
